The effect of foliar treatment of apple trees (variety Shafran krasnokutsky) with the antitranspłrantVapor Gard on the development of leaf surface area, content of plastid pigments and induction changes of leafchlorophyll fluorescence was studied. It was established that in conditions of lack of precipitation the preparationVapor Gard causes a decrease of the leaf area and plants can cope with a reduced water supply. Meanwhile, anumber of qualitative changes take place in the pigment complex of chloroplasts, accompanied by the decreaseof the green pigments content, especially the chlorophyll b. The positive effect of the researched preparation onthe potential photosynthetic activity of leaf chloroplasts was proved using Kpl, Ki and Rfd parameters ofchlorophyll fluorescence induction.
