Adaptive stability of red currant varieties to cold period stressors | Адаптационная устойчивость сортов смородины краснойик стрессорам периода покоя

The influence of stress-factors (low temperature and temperature drop) of a winter-spring period on the physiological features and field evaluation of the condition of 8 varieties of red currants bred in the Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Breeding (RRIFCB) of different ripening dates and the identification of promising varieties for cultivation in the Central-Chernozem region have been studied. The research was carried out at the plot of the primary variety investigation in the Oryol region in 2014-2016. The resistance of the stressors of the dormant period was determined from December till March according to the water content in the annual shoots and their water-holding capacity. The condition of plants after wintering was evaluated in the 2-nd decade of April in the field. Red currant winter hardiness depends on the biological features of the variety, growing conditions and is determined by the duration of the dormancy period, which is longer in winter hardy varieties. The physiological dormancy period depends on the biological features of the plant while the period of induced dormancy depends on the growing conditions. In resistant red currant varieties with a decrease in temperature, the water content in the shoots decreases, and the water-holding capacity increases. During the winter, water content and water loss in annual red currant shoots steadily varied depending on the variety and period of study. The results of the physiological studies are confirmed by the field observations and are a promising method in breeding berry crops for adaptability. Red currant varieties of RRIFCB breeding with the middle (Gazel, Belka) and late (Dar Orla, Osipovskaya and Podarok Leta) dates of ripening demonstrated high resistance to temperature drops during the winter-spring period and were characterized by high values of water-holding capacity of shoots, stability of generative buds and slight damage of bush which did not lead to the yield loss. These samples are perspective for cultivation in the Central region of Russia.

Предметом исследований являлось изучение влияния стресс-факторов (низкая температура и перепад температур) зимне-весеннего периода на физиологические показатели и полевую оценку состояния растений 8 сортов смородины красной селекции Всероссийского НИИ селекции плодовых культур (ВНИИСПК) разного срока созревания и выявление перспективных для возделывания в условиях Центрально-Черноземного региона. Исследования проводили на участке первичного сортоизучения в Орловской обл. в 2014-2016 гг. Устойчивость к стрессорам периода покоя определяли с декабря по март по количеству воды в однолетних побегах и их водоудерживающей способности. Оценку состояния растений после перезимовки проводили во 2-й декаде апреля в полевых условиях. Зимостойкость смородины красной зависит от биологических особенностей сорта, условий произрастания и определяется продолжительностью периода покоя, который более продолжителен у зимостойких сортов. Физиологический период покоя зависит от биологических особенностей растения, а период вынужденного покоя - от условий произрастания. У устойчивых сортов смородины красной с понижением температуры содержание воды в побегах снижается, а водоудерживающая способность повышается. В течение зимы оводненность и потеря воды в однолетних побегах смородины красной стабильно колебались в зависимости от сорта и периода исследования. Результаты физиологических исследований подтверждаются полевыми наблюдениями и являются перспективным методом в селекции ягодных культур на адаптивность. Сорта смородины красной селекции ВНИИСПК со средним (Газель, Белка) и поздним (Дар Орла, Осиповская, Подарок лета) сроками созревания проявили высокую устойчивость к перепадам температур в зимне-весенний период, характеризовались высокими значениями водоудерживающей способности побегов, устойчивостью генеративных почек и незначительными повреждениями куста, которые не приводили к потере урожая. Эти образцы перспективны для возделывания в Центральном регионе России.
