The spatial structure of kinship (on the example of the Zharkovsky settlement of the Tver Region) | Пространственная структура родственных связей (на примере поселка Жарковский Тверской области)

英语. The study was conducted in the settlement of Zharkovsky in the Tver region with a population of 3 ths people. There are analyzed the spatial relationships of families living in this peripheral settlement with their children and relatives in other cities and villages. 180 relatives of 90 surveyed families (households) were revealed beyond the village. The settlement has been losing population for the last 50 years, and its "diaspora" of people born in it has spread from Dublin to Vladivostok and from Murmansk to Amman. The children of Zharkovsky's residents are mostly students in two nearest regional centers – Tver (located at a distance of 340 km) and Smolensk (150 km), and also in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, The educational institutions in medium-sized and small towns are less popular. Other relatives live in the same cities, but there are some of them live in Siberia, the Kaliningrad Region, Belarus, etc. Most of the households under study consist of middle-aged parents or, more often, only of a mother, or elderly parents, whose children have already left the village. The spatial structure of kinship is usually "centrifugal": the majority of relatives in other places are those who left the village. However, sometimes children live in the village while elder parents of which live in villages of the Zharkovsky district. Thus, there is also a "centripetal" structure of kinship ties: some residents of the village are recent immigrants from other places. The communications with relatives are most actively maintained over telephone, sometimes – by tripping adult children to their parents.

В статье анализируются пространственные связи семей, проживающих в периферийном поселке Жарковский (3 тыс. жителей), со своими детьми и другими родственниками, живущими в других городах и деревнях. У 90 опрошенных семей поселка за его пределами 180 родственников. Поселок последние 50 лет теряет население, и "диаспора" выходцев из него раскинулась от Дублина до Владивостока и от Мурманска до Аммана. Уехавшие дети жителей Жарковского – в основном студенты (учащиеся вузов или недавно окончившие их), учащиеся в двух ближайших областных центрах – Твери и Смоленске, но также в Москве и Санкт-Петербурге. В меньшей степени популярны учебные заведения в средних и малых городах. Другие родственники чаще всего проживают в тех же городах, но и во многих других местах: Сибири, Калининградской области, Белоруссии и др. Большинство обследованных домохозяйств состоят из пары родителей среднего возраста или одной матери, значительно реже – из пары престарелых родителей, почти все дети которых уехали из поселка. Пространственная структура родственных связей здесь в основном "центробежная": большинство живущих в других местах родственников – уехавшие из поселка. Но несколько раз нам встретилась и ситуация, когда в поселке живут дети, родители которых – в других местах. Это дети, уехавшие из сел Жарковского района, в которых остались жить их пожилые родители. Таким образом, в данном случае мы имеем и "центростремительную" структуру родственных связей: часть жителей поселка – относительно недавние мигранты из других мест, прибывшие в поселок.
