Determination of the effects of the grobiotic-a ,a commercial prebiotic product against Vibrio anguillarium infection in meagre fish

In this study, the effects of a commercial probiotic called Grobiotik-A on Meagre, Argyrosomus regius, finfish infected by Vibrio anguillarum were reseached. A total of 44 fish with initial mean body weight of 2.95 ± 0.21 g were used. During 90-days study period, Grobiotic A was used at 2, 3, and 4 % of the fish diet in treatment groups, except the control group which received 0 % Grobiotic-A added in the diet. During the feding studies, fish groups were fed on 2 % of their body weight. At the end of the experiment, the fish treatment groups were infected by V. anguillarum intraperitonially. The samples of brain, kidney, spleen, gills were taken from the dead fish. First, the samples were inocculated on aseptic medium and r-isolation was applied for pathogen identification. At the end of the study, final body weight and survival rate of fish groups were measured and the effects of Grobiotic-A on the performans of Vibrio anguillarum infected fish were determined and the results were summarized in the present study.
