A new alternative raw material for Mate-type tea - the leaves of the Caucasian rhododendron – is discussed. The raw was tested. The tested product is organic and can be in high deman It, like caffeine tea, can be unlimitedly consumed by people of any age group, including children, adolescents, patients with cardiovascular and atherosclerotic diseases, etc. The results obtained are socio-economically significant and provide for the expansion of the raw material base of tea products; creation of new jobs in the areas of procurement of raw materials and production; infrastructure development in the highland regions of raw material procurement; improving the health of the population due to the consumption of a product with a high biological value; increase the innovative potential of the domestic tea industry.
