In carp determination was made of the gonadotropin (GtH2) level and oocyte maturity state after stimulation with LHRH analogue (D-Trp6 LH-RH) in pure form or as the DECAPEPTYL preparation characterized by prolonged action. Two thermal regimes were applied prior to hormonal injections : 1) fish where kept in water of a constant temperature of 20°C, and 2) water temperature was elevated from 15 to 20°C by 1°C daily. Fish exposed to the 2nd treatment, as compared with those subjected to the 1st one, displayed a significantly higher (p<0.05) GtH2 level in the 96th h of the experiment. This indicates that the action of DECAPEPTYL (causing prolongation of its activity time) cumulated with the stimulatory, effect of water temperature elevation. In the case of both temperature regimes the administration of the LHRH analogue in pure form stimulated GtH2 liberation only during the first 24 h of the experiment.
