Duration of efficacy of durian patch canker control by injection with metalaxyl and fosetyl aluminium

The duration of efficacy of metalaxyl and fosetyl-aluminium in controlling durian patch canker disease on clone 024 by trunk injection was evaluated. The duration of efficacy was measured by artificially inoculating the durian twig at weekly intervals after injection of the fungicides.The durian trees were injected with the fungicides at the dosage of 80 ml/tree (15% a. i.). Fungal growth and lesion advancement from artificial inoculation prior to injection was inhibited after injection of metalaxyl and fosetyl-aluminium. Each injection of metalaxyl will provide protection of the durian tree for eight weeks, while fosetyl-aluminium will confer protection for six weeks.
