The study of mechanical properties of short pineapple leaf fibre (PALF)reinforced high impact polystyrene (HIPS) composites is presented this chapter. Three different fibre sizes of 10-40, 40-60 and 60-80 meshes and six different fibre loadings of 0%, 10%,20%,30%,40% and 50% by weight have been used. Short PALF-HIPS composites were fabricated using melt mixing and compression moulding. The tensile strength, tensile modulus, flexural strength, flexural modulus, impact strength (notched and unnotched) and hardness of short PALF-HIPS composites reinforced with varying fibre sizes and fibre loadings were studied. The results showed that the addition of short PALF to pure HIPS decreased the tensile strengths, flexural strengths and impact strengths (notched and unnotched) while improving the tensile and flexural moduli and hardness values of the composites.
