In this research, an attempt has been made to recycle the waste and rejected optical glass for the purpose of reproducing a high quality optical glass. The unwanted optical glass was supplied by Schott Glass Company which located in Seberang Perai. Two types of glasses identified as SF2 and F2 were re -melted and subjected to annealing rate of 33.0°Cl hour and 25.0°C/hour. Tests were carried out on the resulting glasses to determine their refractive index, wave dispersion behaviour (Abbe Number), internal transmittance and coefficient of linear thermal expansion. The results were compared with the same characteristics of the original optical glass.
