Maziah Zakaria | Lee, Su See
Teak is an exotic, high value timber tree which is being widely planted in Peninsular Malaysia. There is little information about its diseases but with the expansion of new plantations in the country, reports of various diseases are becoming more frequent. In this paper, we present an account of diseases known to occur on teak in the country. These are bacterial wilt, root disease, leaf diseases, stem cankers and physiological disorders and diseases of unknown etiology. The symptoms, associated pathogens and control measures are discussed.
