Efficiency of the foliar application of biostimulator Mg–Titanit in the cultivation of winter rape and winter wheat

The objective of the triennial experiment, which was carried out at the Haplic Chernozem (48 ° 42' N, 17 ° 70' E), was to determine the differences in the reaction of winter rape and winter wheat to the foliar application of the biostimulator Mg–Titanit containing magnesium, sulphur and titanium. Mg–Titanit (MgTi) was applied in two different single doses (0.2 l·ha–1 and 0.4 l·ha–1), these doses were applied twice and three times. The applications of MgTi were carried out on the plants of rape in the growth phases BBCH 50 – 52, BBCH 59 and BBCH 66 – 67 and on the plants of winter wheat in the phases BBCH 29, BBCH 32 – 37 and BBCH 55 – 59. The results showed that in cultivation of winter rape with the usage of MgTi it is more appropriate to utilize three sprayings than two sprayings from the viewpoint of profit from seed selling. A higher profit was achieved if three sprayings were executed with the single dose 0.2 l·ha–1 than with the dose of 0.4 l·ha–1. The highest profit from the sale of grains of winter wheat was achieved in the variant where MgTi was applied twice with the single dose 0.4 l·ha–1. The reaction of winter rape to the foliar application of MgTi is partially different in comparison with the reaction of winter wheat. With rape, the highest profit was achieved if 0.6 l·ha–1 MgTi was applied totally, and with wheat, if the total dose was 0.8 l·ha–1 MgTi. It is not possible to express the statement about one optimal dose and one optimal date of the application of the biostimulator Mg–Titanit for winter rape and winter wheat, which would result into the highest seed yield, or grain yield, or into the highest profit in each farming year (with 100% certainty).
