2015
Coken, I.
This research was carried out to assess yield and quality characteristics of some barley cultivars in Isparta ecological conditions in 2013 – 2014 growing seasons at the Agrıcultural Faculty Campus Research and Application Farm of Suleyman Demirel Unıversıty. As the barley material six-row Kendal, Martı, Altıkat and two-row Larende, Ünver, Özdemir-05, İnce-04, Akar, Zeynelağa, Samyeli, Bolayır and Harman were used. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized block design with three replications. Plant height, spike number per m^2, grain number per spike, spike lenght, thousand grain weight, the spike in the number of grains, harvest index, test weight, biological yield, protein, nitrogen ratio were evaluated in field experiments. According to, this study ranged between 73.6 (Samyeli) – 89.6 cm (Özdemir-05) plant height; spike number per m^2200.0 (Akar) – 340.0 adet (Samyeli); grain number per spike 22.6 (Bolayır) – 67.3 adet (Altıkat); spike lenght 7.4 (Martı) – 9.5 cm (Akar); thousand grain weight 43.4 (Martı) – 56.4 g (Larende); the spike in the number of grains 169.6 (Martı) – 363.0 kg/da (Zeynelağa); harvest index % 15.5 (Martı) – 30.1 (Bolayır); hectoliter weight 66.2 (Kendal) – 76.3 kg (Larende); biological yield 749.4 (İnce-04) – 1366.1 kg/da (Akar); protein % 9.6 (Altıkat) – 16.3 (Larende); nitrogen ratio % 1.5 (Altıkat) – 3.2 (Larende). As far as research results; the highest results were gained for grain yield Zeynelağa (363.0 kg/da), the highest results for protein ratio Larende (% 16.3) varieties respectively. In terms of these two features, Larende and Zeynelağa cultivar may be said to be appropriate for the structure of the region. However, it would be appropriate for us to repeat the experiment for one year more to obtain more accurate results.
