Effects of light quality on micropropagation of Gi̇sela 6 sweet cherry rootstock

In this study, the effect of light quality on the micropropagation rootstock of Gisela 6 cherry has been investigated. The stability of color range of LEDs is better than the fluorescent lamps. Since the red color gives more positive results on the width of the plant leaves, stem thickness, stem length and the flowering, it will be used at the highest rate. The red color has been used by itself and blended with other colors in the LEDs in order to observe the positive effects of the color. The blue color has also given positive results in growth of the plant and root; it is used as blended with other colors to observe its beneficial effects in lightening. The intended use of LEDs in daylight color is observing the positive effects on the tissue culture of the plant when it is used in combination with other colors in different proportions. The main objective of this study is the Red, Blue and Daylight colors of the LEDs and the proportional values of these colors to each other and for each one. The effects of the cool white color of LED and fluorescent lamps were also tested as controls. According to the results of the study: The quality of lightening was found significant on the number of Suckers among the results of propagation and rooting parameters (p<0.05). The number of the Suckers was at the highest value (4.23 units per explant) when the LED was composed of the colors of Red (40%), Blue (30%) and Daylight (30%) respectively. In the last group, the LED was composed of only Blue (100%) and the statistics have been in a different group with the lowest value (1.87 units per explant). The Number of Rooting has been found significant among the Parameters of Rooting Results (p<0.05). The number of rooting has been at highest point (2.17 units per explant) with daylight (100%) LED, fluorescent lamp and Red (60%) Blue (40%) colors LED. However, the Red (50%) Blue (50%) LED was the lowest one in a different group in terms of statistics with a value of 0.33 units per explant. The quality of lightening has been found as insignificant in terms of the length of shoot and rate of rooting (p>0.05). It was seen that the annual cost of red (100%) LED (15.75 TL) system is approximately three times cheaper than the fluorescent lamps (46.21 TL) when the cost analysis of fixed and variable costs per unit area (m2) was considered.
