英语. Oppgaven tar utgangspunkt i et paradoks: gitterskallene er en sterk og materiale ektiv konstruksjon, men likevel har den begrenset utbredelse. Dette kan endreseg med nye parametriske modelleringsverktøy som kan bidra til å senke barrierer.Oppgaven søker å utforme en parametrisk modell for å formgi gitterskall. For åutvilke en parametrisk modell starter oppgaven med en studie av skallteori, historiskeeksempler og materialegenskaper som fører frem til en re eksjon over hvilkekvaliteter en slik modell bør ha. Mulige teknikker studeres og testes med henblikkpå modellutforming. Et nyere eksempel basert på for ytning bøyedeformsjon avkontrollpunkterdiskuteres og testes. Evalueringen gir enpresis men tungrodd modell.Denne oppgaven utforsker en alternativ strategi der en fjærmodell basert påaksialtøyninger danner en digital forskaling som draperes med et geometrisk korrektrutenett. AbstractThe thesis starts with a paradox: gridshells are strong and material e cient structures.Nevertheless, they are not very numerous. This could change, however, withthe arrival of new design tolls based on parametric design. The thesis aims atdesigning a form- nding model based on the principles of parametric design. Inorder to establish a useful model, the rst part of the thesis consists of a studyof gridshell theory, history and material requirements. Various modelling techniquesare studied and tested. A recently developed technique based on bendingdeformation and adjustable control points is tested and an alternative strategy isproposed. The thesis suggests a particle - spring system based on axial deformationas a form nding toll. In order to establish a grid with equidistant edges, the form nding procedure of the rst simulation is complemented by a draping technique.Finally this geometrically correct grid structure is optimized by means of dynamicrelaxation.
