Estimation of variation in pollution levels in rivers during different seasons provides real information on the entry of natural and anthropogenic polluting materials from point and diffuse sources of pollution. The paper analyzes the change in water quality of the Sava River and the Danube River in the autumn-winter period 2019⁄2020, in the part of the Sava River near Ostružnica, and the Danube River near Zemun, Vinča and Smederevo. At that time, the period from November 2019 to February 2020 was covered. All 25 parameters that are the subject of analysis were selected on the basis of physico-chemical and microbiological indicators that determine the classes of water quality, ecological status of the Danube River and Sava River.
