Taking into account the importance of the eutrophication process that takes place in artificial accumulations, in this study we determined the trophic state index of Bileća Lake based on the measurement of chlorophyll-A concentration. The index of trophic condition of the reservoir was determined too, on the basis of transparency and the degree of trophic status of the lake was assesed. Based on the physicochemical parameters obtained by monitoring during the period when the highest value of the trophic state index was determined, possible causes of the increase in the trophicity of the water mass were detected.
