The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of nutrient contents in seawater on metal concentrations in mussel soft tissues. For this purpose, the concentrations of Al, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sr, Zn and Hg in the mussel samples were determined, as well as the contents of nitrites, nitrates, phosphates and silicates in seawater. The samples were collected in each season over a one-year period. The comparison between locations and seasons were performed and the Pearson correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the impact of nutrient contents on metal concentrations in mussels. The results showed that at increased nutrient contents, the increase of metal concentrations in mussel tissues is possible.
