„Oily sunflower” hybrids are characterized by black seed, with a thin hull representing 20-25% of the total seed mass. They are mostly without major deviations in dimensions and shape. The oil content of seeds of oil hybrids is over 40%.The aim of this paper is to examine and compare the dimensions of seeds of the same oil hybrids that were grown on thetwo different regions of the world (Serbia and Argentina). The latest hybrids of the secondary filial (F2) generation wereanalyzed. The equivalent diameter and dimensions of the seed were described by Malik and Saina, 2016. The highestvalue of the equivalent diameter was determined for the sample of NS Taurus and amounts to 6,43±0,42 mm (Serbia)and 7,71±0,26 mm (Argentina). The most frequent length interval for hybrids grown in Serbia is between 10 and 10,99mm (58,33%), while in Argentina samples are between 11 and 11,99 mm (43,33%). The most extensive width intervalwas between 5 and 5,99 mm, and 41,33% of samples from Serbia measured this width, while in Argentina only 29%were samples. 45,67% of the examined seeds from Serbia had a thickness between 3 and 3,99 mm, while in the samplesfrom Argentina the most frequent interval of thickness was between 4 and 4,99 mm (38,67%).
