A new record of Simulium kiritshenkoi Rubtsov, 1940 for the Republic of Moldova is presented. Description of S. kiritshenkoi larva with some additions to the existent data is provided step-by-step for the quick and accurate identification of the species. It was supported by the digital images and morphometric data. Preliminary data on species seasonality are discussed. The breeding sites features and species distribution are provided in the present study.
