Evaluation of Trophic Status of Ozluce Dam Lake

This study was carried out to determine the trophic status of Ozluce Dam Lake locatedin the borders of Elazığ and Bingöl provinces. In 2015, instant measurements were made onthe surface water of 5 different stations identified in the reservoir and surface water sampleswere taken from these stations. In addition, measurements and sampling were made fromdifferent depths in station 4. Dissolved oxygen and secchi discs were measured in the field for6 months. Chlorophyll-a, maximum chlorophyll-a, total nitrogen and total phosphorusanalyzes were made in Elazığ Fisheries Institute laboratories. As a result of the study, the dataobtained from both surface water and water column samples at 4th station were evaluatedaccording to three different trophic status indexes (Carlson, OECD, Surface Water Quality Regulation) and Özlüce Dam Lake was defined as mesotrophic. This research is important interms of being the first study conducted in Özlüce Dam Lake.
