The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of different levels of fenugreek seed (0, 10 and 20 g/kg) in the diet on performance and egg quality in laying hens. In this 6-week trial, a total of 96 laying hens, aged 40 weeks, were randomly distributed among three experimental groups. Each experimental group contained four replicates of eight birds each. Feed and water were offered ad-libitum throughout the experiment. The different dietary levels of fenugreek seed had no significant effect on body weight change, egg production, egg weight, egg mass, feed conversion ratio, specific gravity, egg shell breaking strength, eggshell ratio, Haugh unit, L*, a* or b*. The feed intake was increased with 10 g/kg fenugreek seed level in the diet. The eggshell thickness was best in laying hens fed 20 g/kg fenugreek seed. According to the results of this study showed that laying hens should be fed with 20 g/kg fenugreek seed level in the diet.
