Manual for planning and implementing research aimed at improving agricultural technology for farmers. The procedures described integrate information on the natural and economic circumstances that dominate farmer response to alternative technologies. They are based on the view that research can be made more effective if it proceeds from the current circumstances of farmers, and that it should integrate the perceptions of biological and social scientists.
