Investigation on the distribution of first instar larvae of Cryptococcus fagisuga Lind. (Hom., Coccoidea) in a beech forest
1986
Augustin, S.
Precipitation, temperature and light influence the number of larvae of the 1st instar of Cryptococcus fagisuga dispersed in the forest. Direction of dispersion is determined principally by the predominant wind direction. Larvae are carried by the wind and the distance of dispersion is directly related to wind speed. Comparison on different traps indicates that cylindrical traps are less effective in capturing larvae than flat horizontal or vertical traps and that the trunks of small trees receive proportionately more larvae than the trunks of large diameter trees
