The investigation of the content heavy metals and micro elements of feed in Korea

In order to control the quality of feed by investigating the content of the heavy metals and micro elements, 153 samples from 7 feed manufacturing companies were analyzed. Cadmium contents of corn, wheat bran, soybean meal and fish meal were similar to those of previous results of foreign researchers. In some swine and chick diets, however, large amount of cadmium was detected and was higher than allowance level of NRC (1980). Lead contents of concentrate mixtures were lower than allowance levels of NRC (1980) and Germany (1985). Fluorine contents of swine and poultry diets were higher than allowance level of NRC (1980) and Germany (1985), but those of some cattle diets were higher. Copper contents of concentrate mixtures1970except for some dairy cow diets was higher than copper requirement of NRC (1980), but lower than allowance level of NRC.
