Evaluation of poultry manure as feeds and residual effects of rice straw/poultry manure feeding [Philippines]

Concentrate intake of dairy cattle was significantly depressed with increased amounts of dried poultry manure (DPM) in the mixture from 25 to 100%. With goats, intake was significantly higher at 25% DPM compared to 100%. This indicates that DPM can safely be incorporated in the ration at 25% without adversely affecting intake. Heating of DPM at 70 C for 1 day was found effective in reducing microbial content without decreasing CP content. None of the DPM and milk samples examined was positive for the levels of antibiotics (chloramphenicol and furasolidone) tested.
