Effect of Calcutta City [India] waste compost on rice yield
1986
Chattopadhyay, N. | Gupta, M.D. | Gupta, S.K. (Calcutta Univ., Circular Road, Calcutta, West Bengal (India). Coll. of Agriculture)
Compost was effective in increasing yield. Ratna gave the best response. Yields with urea were highest in all treatments; yields with compost alone and in combination in urea were similar. The effect of compost on yield may be due to its appreciable amounts of N, P, K, Zn, Fe, Mn, and Cu along with organic matter. In addition, increased available macro and micronutrients in the soil ultimately help increase yield.
