Seed maturation study in winged bean [Philippines]
1984
Abenoja, R.M.
To determine the best time to harvest winged bean in relation to seed yield and quality, harvesting dates tested were 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 days after flowering. Seed weight was found to be at its peak at 30 days after flowering after which a sudden decrease was obtained. Moisture content decreased as harvesting was delayed with the lowest at 35 days after flowering. Seed vigor index and seed viability were highest at later dates of harvesting (25 to 35 days after flowering) and lowest at early days of harvesting (5 to 20 days after flowering)
