Agronomic characters such as plant height at maturity, number of filled and unfilled spikelets per spike, number of non-productive tillers, weight of 1000 seeds and yield per plot were not affected by the methods of planting. Spike length and number of productive tillers were highly affected by the system of planting. Drilled method had higher yield by 9.68 percent over broadcast method
