The number of pods, length of pods and yield per plot was significantly affected by the time and rate of fertilizer application. Weight of 100 seeds was affected by levels of fertilizer. Application of fertilizer at planting time at the rate of 30-30-30 kg NPK/ha gave the highest number of long pods as well as highest yield of 1592 kg seed/ha. Beyond this level, no significant increase in yield was obtained
