Significant effects of time of fertilizer application on height of plant and number of harvestable bolls were noted. However, the different methods of fertilizer application employed did not influence the above parameters. Yield per plot was significantly affected by the time of applying fertilizer. Basal application of fertilizer by band method gave the best result
