Studies on the accumulation of heavy metals in the soils of the Niepolomice Forest

The author found during the investigation that the humus horizons of the soils of the Niepolomice forest contained 2-7 times more heavy metals than the control site soils. A smaller pollution was seen in acid soils, wet or moist with shallow occurrence of ground water, with humus o1808f the mor type i.e. peat soils on raised peat, peaty-gley and peaty podzolic soils. Stronger pollution was found in weakly acid soils, moist, with biologically active humus of the mull type i.e. muck-peat soils and leached brown (gleyed) soils.
