Summer indoor feeding or pasturing - a labour management consideration

Traditionally dairy cattle are either fed in the stall in summer or graze in the pasture. The pros and contras of both forms are partially controversially discussed. The various motives for the selected methods will be pointed out. Thereafter, a labour-managerial analysis is carried out assuming the same conditions, which, supplemented by the capital requirements, allow for a comparatory cost calculation and hence for a final and comprehensive assessment.
