A new way of suppressing nosema disease [in bees]
1989
Matheson, A.
The recommended treatment for controlling nosema disease in bees is feeding fumagillin to suppress the active stages of Nosema apis, the organism responsible, and regular comb replacement or fumigation to remove space stages. Fumagillin is usually fed in syrup form and this can cause problems. Results from tests using the simpler, cheaper method of administering fumagillin mixed with dry icing sugar are discussed in the paper
