In trials with gradated liming and its interaction with organic manuring on acid anhydromorphic (podzolic, cambisol, pelosol) to hydromorphic soils (stagnosol, gleysol), the soil and specific changes in properties and processes affecting the factors of pH were characterized. The following processes were found: stimulation of bacterial and actinomycetes populations and processes of C and N conversions; influence of intensity and duration on the processes of soil recovery; C and N mineralization, nitrification and synthetic activities influencing NO3- and Ca2+ ions leaching; temporary worsening of the humus quality. These processes are evidently in progress in acid semihydromorphic and hydromorphic soils with increased content of non-stabilized and non-humific organic substances. They are in progress especially in podzolic soils and oligobasic cambisols, where high Al-saturation and high content of amorphous colloids and thus also more marked CEC dependent on pH are added to all mentioned properties of humus.
