Changes of nutrient and energy contents of herbage during preservation

In order to determine the changes of the nutrient content of forage during preservation comparative measurement with direct-cut and wilted silages were carried out. The difference of the nutrient content between the crop and the respective silage depends on DM content at the moment of ensiling. Regression equations for predicting the amounts of increasing or decreasing the respective nutrient concentration in comparison to the crop used for preservation were derived.
