Cation exchange capacity (CEC) of acidic mineral soils from West Java, West Kalimantan, Jambi, and Riau was determined by using : (1) at soil pH, unbuffered 0.5 N BaCl2. 1 N KCl and Ag-Thiourea extractants: (2) at pH 7, buffered extractants of 1 N NH4-acetate and 1 N Na-acetate: and (3) at pH 8.2, buffered extractants of Ba-Triethanolamine (Ba-TEA). CEC values of the examined extractants were in the following order: Ag-TU1 N KCl
