[Non-destructive methods for estimation of leaf area of two Feijoa sellowiana cultivars]

英语. About 65 leaves from each of the two Feijoa cultivars Mammoth and Triumph were collected from oneyear shoots; of every leaf width, lenght and area were measured. The latter values were recorded using a leaf area-meter. Leaf areas were estimated employing some univariate and bivariate functions; maximum leaf lenght and/or width were used as independent variables. Freeman's method (2) for estimating area of apple leaves was carried out too. An analysis of errors related to all these methods is presented. Excluding function "D1", which gave a very asymmetric distribution of leaf areas, mean leaf area values obtained through different methods were compared all toghether for each cultivar. No significant difference could be detected among means. So the choice among methods will be based on needs in accurancy and rapidity required in the measurements

意大利语. L'area fogliare di due cultivar di Feijoa sellowiana e' stata misurata tramite aerometro (valore "vero" dell'area). Una stima dell'area e' stata ottenuta tramite diverse funzioni univariate e bivariate (con lunghezza e/o larghezza delle foglie come variabili indipendenti) e tramite il metodo di Freeman (2); inoltre sono state analizzate gli errori commessi rispetto alla misura "vera". Per ciascuna cultivar, con l'eccezione della funzione "D1" che non e' stata confrontata con le altre in quanto dava origine ad una distribuzione molto asimmetrica, le aree stimate applicando diverse equazioni non sono risultate in media significativamente differenti. La scelta della funzione da impiegare per una stima distruttiva dovra' quindi essere effettuata in base all'accuratezza e alla rapidita' di misurazione richieste
