In the course of virological studies of faba bean (Vicia faba L.) crops during 1982-1987, seven viruses were identified from samples collected. Identification of Bean Leaf Roll Virus (BLRV) was based on visual symptoms and persistent aphid transmission by Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris), while Broad Bean Stain Virus (BBSV) was only serologically detected from samples. The others - Bean Yellow Mosaic Virus (BYMV), Alfalfa Mosaic Virus (AMV), Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV), Broad Bean True Mosaic Virus (BBTMV) and Pea Enation Mosaic Virus (PEMV) - were investigated both serologically and by host range
