Overseeding of subterranean clover under forest cover. 2: Seed production and sward persistency in the underwood [in Tuscany]

英语. A mixture of Trifolium subterraneum cv. "Woogenellup" and T. brachycalycinum cv. "Clare" has been overseeded under forest cover in a coppice of Tuscan Maremma (Central Italy). Results concerning seed production, field germinability trend and self-reseeding efficiency are discussed in this note. Seed production has been lower than with "classic seeding", anyway the forest cover has not affected this production. A higher burial percentage has been reached too, thanks to a better soil structure and to higher quantity of litter. Germinability has increased considerably through summer months, even if a lower level in comparison to open areas, probably because of minor termic excursions. The result of such a behaviour under forest cover, has been a self-reseeding rate sufficient to ensure sward persistency

意大利语. Un miscuglio di Trifolium subterraneum cv. "Woogenellup" e di T. brachycalycinum cv. "Clare" e' stato traseminato sotto copertura forestale in un bosco ceduo della Maremma toscana. In questa nota sono analizzati i risultati riguardanti la produzione di seme, l'andamento della germinabilita' in campo e l'efficacia dell'autorisemina. La produzione di seme e' stata inferiore rispetto a quella ottenibile con la semina classica, tuttavia la copertura forestale non ha abbassato ulteriormente questa quantita'. Si e' anche avuta una percentuale piu' alta di interramento dei glomeruli grazie alla maggiore sofficita' del terreno ed alla piu' abbondante lettiera. La germinabilita' e' aumentata considerevolmente nei mesi estivi, anche se in misura minore rispetto a quanto avvenuto in aree aperte, probabilmente a causa delle escursioni termiche piu' attenuate. Il risultato di questo comportamento sotto copertura forestale e' stato un tasso di autorisemina sufficiente a garantire la persistenza del cotico
