The regions of forest seed provenance in European countries and in Slovenia

A precondition for the establishing of forest seed practice is the dividing of the forest environment into the regions of provenance, which is also regulated by the guidelines and regulations on international level. The division of Slovenia into seven regions of provenance or "seed regions" was already defined in 1950, it was later regulated by the law but never put into practice in spite of the fact that it could be appropriate even for the present situation. As a continuation of the work already started, a suggestion is given to define the regions of provenance based on the latest phytogeographical division of Slovenia
