Gum leaf skeletoniser moth, Uraba lugens, in the forests of Western Australia [Eucalptus]
1988
Strelein, G.J. (Western Australian Dept. of Conservation and Land Management, Bunbury)
Monitoring of the insect from 1983-86 using aerial and ground assessments in the south-west of Western Australia showed some differences in behaviour, life cycle and host preferences form those recorded for Eastern Australian States. Oviposition occurs in parallel rows and there is only one generation per year. The larvae have been found in Eucalyptus marginata (jarrah), E. calophylla, E diversicolor, E. rudis, E. decipiens and E. Wandoo, with jarrah the preferred host.
