Enzymatic assay for glycogen in animal tissues

A simple, rapid and accurate laboratory test is described in which tissue glycogen is hydrolysed by the enzyme amyloglucosidase to constituent glucose units, which can then be quantified in a single-step colour reaction. Published ranges of tissue glycogen concentrations in a variety of domestic species are tabulated.
