Synthesis and evaluation of pheromones as a potential management strategy for spined citrus bug [Biprorulus bibax Breddin]
1993
James, D.G. (New South Wales Agriculture, Yanco (Australia))
Reports on the significant potential shown for the use of a synthetic pheromone in the management of the spined citrus bug in orchards. The pheromones of both the spined citrus bug and the assassin bug (Pristhesancus plagipennis), an important natural enemy, have been identified, synthesised and evaluated for bioactivity. Further research could develop these semiochemicals into practical aids for the management of spined citrus bug.
