A longitudinal rope-wick applicator was compared with a transverse type at 4 times from October to March, at two speeds, with single or double passes, on regrowth from slashing. Treatments were more effective in December and January than earlier or later; double application was more effective than single; the longitudinal applicator was twice as effective as the transverse, and was unaffected by speed, whereas the transverse was more effective at the higher speed.
