The efficacy of a range of weed control treatments, including several herbicides, was tested on tea from 1980 to 1987. The crop was either grown from seed, or as transplanted seedlings, or 2-year old plants. Several guidelines on successful tea estalishment were identified but no completely selective herbicide treatments were found.
