Flight activity of bark beetles is dependent on temperature. This was significant in its seasonal and diurnal course as well. Maxima of diurnal activity were observed: in Ips typographus L. between 22 and 26 degrees C, in Pityogenes chalcographus L. between 23 and 25 degrees C (both species in the early afternoon), in Trypodendron lineatum Ol. between 19 and 24 degrees C (within the investigation period May-August 1991 in the early evening)
