Pratylenchus penetrans and Rotylenchus robustus on thirty herbaceous ornamental species [plant parasitic nematodes; population densities; Victoria]
1988
Suatmadji, R.W. (Victorian Dept. of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Burnley (Australia). Plant Research Inst.)
Pratylenchus penetrans was extracted from the roots of 30 herbaceous ornamental species grown in a field at Keysborough, Victoria. Population densities of rootborne P. penetrans were arbitrarily divided into 3 groups and used as an indication of the host status of each plant species. Rotylenchus robustus also occurred in the field, but was identified at densities greater than 260 nematodes per 250 ml soil only from soil around the roots of 3 of the 30 plant species.
