Lower ileal contents of 3-week-old broilers were analysed after feeding experimental and control diets. Dietary inclusion of oat hulls reduced the microbial contribution to ileal dry matter irrespective of antibiotic treatment. The microbial contribution to ileal content of amino acids was independent od dry matter contribution, apparently because of a change in microflora.
