Effects of the amount of stubble mulch and overland flow on erosion of a cracking clay soil under simulated rain [wheat]

In a field study, rain-flow erosion decreased with increasing amounts of stubble; scour by overland flow was definite at the lowest stubble load, but sediment concentrations were still much lower than those of bare soil. As discharges increased, the significance of rain-flow erosion declined, probably because overland flow became too deep for drop impact to effectively entrain sediment.
