Nymphs of M. persicae inoculated with Z. phalloides were killed at each temperature tested in the range 10-22 degrees C. Mortality was around 50 percent at 12, 15 and 18 degrees but was considerably reduced outside this range. Deaths occurred soonest at 18 degrees. The low temperature requirement of the fungus limits its potential as a biological control agent in Australia.
